Challenge
A luxury lifestyle brand’s CEO contacted Knightsbridge Recruitment following two failed placements when using another recruitment agency. Although the candidates looked good on paper, they lacked the professionalism, intelligence, polish, and long-term commitment the role required. Morale was low, and the client was understandably wary of engaging “yet another agency” after being promised – and let down – before.
Our Approach
We recognised that rebuilding trust would require a completely different approach from what the client had received elsewhere. Despite initial resistance from the client, our consultants insisted on meeting the CEO in person, not just the HR Director. It then quickly became clear that the previous agency did not interview their candidates in person and had relied on a quick, five minute phone call before introducing them to the company.
Knightsbridge Recruitment’s approach focusses on depth and clear communication:
- We reframed the brief to reflect the personality and values the CEO was seeking – not just the job title
- We offered honest guidance, realistic timelines and transparent expectations
- We introduced only handpicked, carefully interviewed candidates with relevant experience in brand-aligned organisations
We positioned ourselves not as just another agency – but as a strategic recruitment partner working on a consultative basis.
Study Outcome
Knightsbridge Recruitment placed an exceptional EA with a background in supporting Managing Directors in fashion and design. The match was an instant success.
The CEO subsequently recommended Knightsbridge Recruitment to another company, and her company now uses us exclusively for all their PA and EA hires.
Why it worked
- Our insistence on meeting clients and candidates in person
- Depth of understanding – beyond job titles and CVs
- A curated, quality-driven shortlist, not a volume approach
- Restoring trust through professionalism, accuracy and delivery
This case demonstrates Knightsbridge Recruitment’s ability to transform a company’s negative recruitment experience into a successful, long-term partnership.
