An exceptional independent school in West London is seeking to appoint a capable and approachable Human Resources Assistant to join its professional support team. Situated on an attractive and well-equipped campus, the school is widely recognised for its academic strength, pastoral care and vibrant working environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised administrator to become part of a small, collaborative HR team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting recruitment processes and ensuring all employment compliance requirements are met efficiently and accurately.
About the Role
Working closely with the Head of HR and colleagues, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across a range of HR activities. A significant part of the role involves coordinating pre-employment procedures and maintaining rigorous compliance standards in line with safeguarding and employment legislation.
- Coordinating recruitment administration from application through to appointment
- Obtaining and verifying employment references
- Managing DBS and other statutory pre-employment checks
- Maintaining accurate and confidential personnel records
- Providing day-to-day administrative assistance within the HR office
- This is a fully office-based position and requires a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
About You
- Is methodical, detail-focused and highly organised
- Communicates confidently and professionally
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and handles sensitive information appropriately
- Is comfortable working within clearly defined procedures and regulatory frameworks
- Can manage competing priorities in a busy administrative environment
- Experience within an HR function would be advantageous, particularly in education or the public sector, although this is not essential. Above all, accuracy, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility are key.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Thursday: 8.00am – 5.00pm
- Friday: 8.00am – 4.30pm
- School holiday hours: 8.00am – 4.30pm
Salary and Benefits
- Competitive salary dependent on experience
- 28 days’ annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays
- Two-week Christmas closure
